Pretty cool Black Cherry Bombshells fan art.

Etta James died today.

She was an amazing vocalist who made T.N.T. music.

Etta James was the inspiration for Ma Rizzo, a badass gangster in our zombie comic Black Cherry Bombshells.

The pin-up of Ma Rizzo above is by Gabe Bautista.  He is also a great fan of Ms. James.

Merry belated xmas.

Although her usual thing is vampires, Christine Larsen gets down with the zombies too.

only thelarsenproject could make zombies romantic; now we’re in love.

Page 51 from the Black Cherry Bombshells is a reference to Fear and Loathing; illustrated by Sacha Borisich and John Dallaire.

I think this was the first Hunter S. Thompson shout-out in the 9 issue web-series, certainly not the last.

Ultra-violent girl gangs fight for power in a strange future where men are zombies. In Vegas, the Black Cherry Bombshells and their leader Regina take control of the bootlegging industry, much to the fury of the local crime boss, a woman called The King.

I watched Sucker Punch last night and it kind of reminded me of our web comic Black Cherry Bombshells.

Ultra-violent girl gangs fight for power in a strange future where all men are zombies. In Vegas, the Black Cherry Bombshells and their leader Regina take control of the bootlegging industry, much to the fury of the local crime boss, a woman they call The King.

The whole series, all 9 issues, are available to read on-line at www.BlackCherryBombshells.com

The page above features Regina, leader of the Bombshells, fighting a cyborg St Paulie Girl while a zombie T-Rex dominates a pair of tanks in the background. Every page is pretty much just as over the top.

So, get your girl-on-zombie-action thanks to artist Sacha Borisich and colorist John Dallaire.

Our BFF’s Kristen and Rahzzah made this awesome B Movie poster of us for the South Fellini offices to commemorate the one year anniversary.

It’s silly and over the top.  A perfect depiction of this madness.

Thanks guys!

Black Cherry Bombshells #7 is available at DC Online.

Get that girl on zombie action with special guest artist Sheldon Vella.

This was actually the beginning of a subtle crossover with Shelly’s comic.  It was part of an idea for a spin-off series that would take place between the end of Black Cherry Bombshells and the beginning of SUPERtron…   Alas, it was never meant to be.

Two more breathtaking chapters left until the epic conclusion!

New Black Cherry Bombshells is finally out on DC Online and Comixology.

Ultra violent girl gangs fight for survival in a post apocalyptic Las Vegas where all the men are zombies.

In this chapter we reveal events from the day of the Zombie Apocolypse.

Three more issues to go until the ultimate conclusion. Drawn by Sacha Borisich and Colors by John Dallaire.

Happy Belated Easter from Zombie Jesus.

Sacha Borisich enjoys opera, roller derby and smashing zombies; nightmares are the best part of her day. She’s the illustrator of Black Cherry Bombshells from DC Comics.  You can check out the first three issues through Comixology.

SF - Can you remember your last dream? If so, what was it about?

SB - Yes, the last dream I had was about being in a zombie apocalypse, (imagine that) we were trying to find a safe place to go and we found a university that had a warehouse that was on a second floor and safe. We had to take the train to the university which was an above ground subway there was a lot of dead people on the train but they weren’t zombies yet. So we pretended to be dead too. We passed areas in Manhattan that weren’t hit buy the zombies yet and they were shopping and going on with normal life as usual. A train came up besides us that was full of zombies staring at us, we made it to the university and took a freight elevator to the top and used black out curtains to cover the windows. The colors of this dream were twilight pinks and greys.

SF - What’s the most unbelievable lie you’ve ever told and gotten away with?

SB - How I broke my toe when I was 13. I told a fib that I was swimming and I pushed off from the pool wall and broke it, when in reality I was running with my cousin and playing and I slipped on the pavement and slammed my toes into the lip of the pool before falling in.

SF - Smurfs or Snorks?

SB -Snorks.

SF - Are you the kind of person you would lend money to?

SB - Yes, cause I’d pay it back.

SF - What music gets you through a last-minute deadline?

SB - Depends on the mood, and time of day. At night maybe ambient or ethereal music, or industrial old school. During the days opera is nice.
